72 hour filmmaking challenge

About our cosmic challenge

ODISEJA72 is a one-of-a-kind short film challenge in Lithuania, where participating teams have 72 hours to make a short film. The winners will be awarded with prizes encouraging the creation of future audiovisual projects. There are no limitations as to who can participate in the challenge, so all the film, video, animation and audiovisual arts enthusiasts or young professionals are very welcome to participate no matter their age, education or residency.

About the tasks of the mission

Before embarking on this creative odyssey, every participating team will get different randomly selected tasks on which their films will be based. The assignments will provide 4 main elements which will have to be used in the films: a genre, an archetype of the character, a movement and a prop. The creators will have to use all these elements in their short films. For example: genre – a detective film or film noir, an archetype – romantic guy, prop – a fork, movement – lying on the ground. One of the criteria to determine the winner of ODISEJA72 challenge is an accurate and original implementation of the task in the final short film.

About the mentors

Every team participating in the challenge will have a unique opportunity to get advice from our team of mentors consisting of Lithuanian and British professionals. The mentors will advise and help to solve problems from script writing, creative problem solving, producing, directing, filming and editing perspectives. The mentoring session will take place in the morning of the first day of the challenge at the VGTU “LinkMenų Fabrikas”, Vilnius.
